I specialize in the treatment of children, adults, and families impacted by trauma, loss, death, abuse, exposure to violence, and divorce.
I practice a non-medical approach emphasizing “stuckness” in human development, healthy expression of emotions, ”meaning-making”, and the establishment of deep and enjoyable relationships.
I also specialize in working with seniors dealing with life changes, ”empty nest”, family relationships, grief, and bereavement.
I provide supervision to therapists in training, preparing for licensure, and wishing on-going consultation and practice development.
I am available for public speaking and teaching on the impact of war and political violence on children and families as well as approaches to working with psychological trauma.
I believe that psychology can be a force for social transformation, peaceful conflict resolution and justice.
I accept many major insurance plans and Medicare but prefer to negotiate reasonable fees with my clients so that the therapeutic relationship is between the psychologist and client and not with a third party.
